First Case of Monkeypox in Johnson County, Iowa

Johnson County Public Health has confirmed the first case of monkeypox in Johnson County. JCPH is working closely with the Iowa Department of Public Health to investigate the circumstances of exposure and inform close contacts. Persons who test positive help public health identify others who may be at risk due to direct close contact.

Johnson County Juvenile Justice and Youth Development Policy Board vacancies

The Johnson County Board of Supervisors announces three vacancies on the Johnson County Juvenile Justice and Youth Development Policy Board.

Two vacancies are for persons categorized as “business, parents, residents or youth” for a three-year terms beginning upon appointment and expiring Sept. 30, 2025. One vacancy is for a representative of a social service agency for a three-year term beginning upon appointment and expiring Sept. 30, 2025.

Village planning for Windham begins July 18; area residents and public invited to participate

A public meeting to begin the process of creating a village plan and setting a village boundary for Windham will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 18, at Renee’s Roadhouse, 1747 Black Diamond Road SW. Area residents, property owners and any interested persons are welcome to attend the meeting to learn about the process, share ideas and ask questions. Light refreshments will be provided, and the kitchen will be open for additional food purchases. (Alcoholic beverages will not be available for sale during this special meeting.)
