The Johnson County Social Services Department is seeking volunteers for its Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. VITA is a national program sponsored by the IRS and offers free tax preparation for federal and state tax returns for low-income families, persons with disabilities and those with limited English proficiency.

Veterans Day 2025 hours for Johnson County governmental offices

Most Johnson County governmental offices will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025, in observance of Veterans Day. 

Detailed schedule changes include: 

Ambulance: Johnson County Ambulance Service (JCAS) will be available for routine and emergency response. The JCAS billing and administrative offices will be closed. Emergency services remain available 365 days a year. In an emergency, residents should always dial 911.
