Johnson County to offer youth development grants to nonprofits

The Johnson County Board of Supervisors is accepting applications for Juvenile Justice and Youth Development (JJYD) programming for the FY23 – FY25 grant cycle. Up to $400,000 will be awarded to non-profit organizations providing evidence-based, trauma-informed, culturally-responsive youth development and delinquency prevention services to Johnson County youth 10-16 years of age.

Public hearing for Fiscal Year 2023 proposed property tax levy to take place Feb. 23, 2022

The Johnson County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on the Fiscal Year 2023 proposed property tax levy at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2022. The meeting will take place in the second-floor boardroom of the Johnson County Administration Building, 913 S. Dubuque Street, Iowa City. Members of the public may also participate via Zoom by clicking on the Zoom Meeting link found in the hearing’s posted agenda.

Presidents Day 2022 hours for Johnson County governmental offices

Most Johnson County governmental offices will be closed on Monday, Feb. 21, 2022, in observance of Presidents Day.

Detailed schedule changes and other office closures include:

Ambulance: Johnson County Ambulance Service (JCAS) will be available for routine and emergency response. The JCAS billing and administrative offices will be closed. Emergency services remain available 365 days a year. In an emergency, residents should always dial 911.
