The Johnson County Empowerment/Early Childhood Iowa Area Board will hold a public budget forum from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2022. The budget forum is an opportunity for community members to learn more about how Early Childhood Iowa funds are utilized to assist Johnson County children ages 0-5 and their families.

Johnson County Public Health (JCPH) will increase its capacity to address current and emerging health issues in the community by hiring an additional disease prevention specialist whose primary focus will be chronic disease prevention. The position is a result of Johnson County’s investment of funds received from the federal government through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).

Johnson County is accepting applications from area nonprofit and charitable organizations that provide services to reduce food insecurity and improve access to healthy food for residents in the community. The County may award up to $90,000 in funding to organizations providing services to residents.

Johnson County is pursuing a study to assess broadband internet capabilities, needs and deficiencies in the county. The study is a result of Johnson County’s investment of funds received from the federal government through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).
