The mission of Johnson County Commission of Veterans Affairs is to assist all honorably discharged Veterans and their dependents in Johnson County and to connect them with the benefits they are eligible for. We offer assistance with State Veteran Benefits as well, and provide temporary emergency assistance for shelter, food, utilities, and burial.

Chatham Oaks provides two main services - Residential Care Facility (RCF) and Home-Based Habilitation services. The Residential Care Facility provides services 24 / 7 for adults with a mental illness. The focus of services is to provide support for the individual to increase skills for independent living. Services include nursing, recreation and skills training. Each resident is assigned a social worker. Home-Based Habilitation is a Medicaid funded service. Services are provided to individuals with a mental illness who need support while living independently in their own home or apartment.
