Johnson County hosts bicycle commuter and recreational rider breakfast May 13

Bicycle commuters and recreational riders are invited to enjoy a free, locally made fresh breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, at the patio just south of the Johnson County Administration Building located at 913 S. Dubuque Street in Iowa City.

The breakfast will feature empanadas, coffee, juice and fruit. Free trail maps, bike tip sheets and bike pins will also be available.

The rain location is the lower level of the nearby Health and Human Services (HHS) Building parking ramp, located at 855 S. Dubuque Street.

Half Moon Avenue NW between Copi Road NW and the Iowa Interstate Railroad will be closed for construction beginning May 5

Weather permitting, Half Moon Avenue, south of Highway 6 between Copi Road NW and the Iowa Interstate Railroad, will be closed to traffic beginning Monday, May 5, 2025, for construction. Construction will include the replacement of a culvert under Half Moon Avenue NW and the installation of the Clear Creek Trail crossing.  Access to Copi Road NW will be maintained throughout the week. The public is requested to use Half Moon Avenue SW and 340th Street SW for access to properties south of the construction area.

Board of Supervisors meetings moving to new location on April 30

Beginning Wednesday, April 30, 2025, the Board of Supervisors meetings will be in room 301, on the third floor of the Health & Human Services building (HHS building), 855 S. Dubuque St., Iowa City.

Public parking will be available on the north side of the HHS building. Visitors can enter the building through the entrance near the flagpole and take the elevator or stairs to the third floor to the boardroom.
