The Johnson County Empowerment/Early Childhood Iowa Area Board is holding a public budget forum from 6 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2026, in room 202A of the Johnson County Health and Human Services Building, 855 S. Dubuque Street, Iowa City.
Pursuant to Iowa Code §49.23, polling place change notices were mailed on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, from the Elections Department. Due to a printing error, some postcards list the incorrect address for the polling location.
The Board of Supervisors will discuss action steps from the Johnson County Housing Assessment study during a special work session at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, May 18.
Poll locations have changed in multiple Johnson County precincts since the last Primary Election. These precincts and their current locations are listed below.
Most Johnson County governmental offices will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026, in observance of Memorial Day.

Ambulance: Johnson County Ambulance Service (JCAS) will be available for routine and emergency response. The JCAS billing and administrative offices will be closed. Emergency services remain available 365 days a year. In an emergency, residents should always dial 911.

Due to increased traffic and limited staff availability with early voting and the June 2, 2026 Primary Election, the Auditor’s Office is suspending Community ID services from Tuesday, May 12, through Friday, June 5. Services will resume at 8 a.m. on Monday, June 8.
