The Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the fiscal year 2027 budget during the April 23 formal meeting. The FY27 expenditure budget totals $164.8 million, a $1.5 million decrease from fiscal year 2026. Public budget meetings started in January 2026 and included two public hearings.

Johnson County is accepting grant applications to fund services that help reduce food insecurity and improve access to healthy food for residents living in or near food deserts, those who lack access to transportation, and homebound residents, in addition to programs that provide locally grown produce for food-insecure households.
