The Auditor's Office is responsible for administering all local, state and federal elections held in Johnson County, as well as maintaining the county's voter registration records.

Minutes of formal meetings are posted upon Board approval and include a summary of the official actions and votes taken, public hearing proceedings, and text of resolutions, ordinances, and proclamations. Minutes of informal meetings are posted upon completion.
The Auditor's Office maintains records of current property ownership within Johnson County for taxation purposes. These records are available to the public and consist of plat maps showing current ownership, aerial photos showing ground cover and other physical attributes, and road maps. Each year the Auditor's Office compiles property tax levies and calculates property taxes, which are collected by the Treasurer's Office.
The Auditor issues accounts payable and payroll, produces monthly expenditure, revenue, and payroll reports, keeps detailed ledgers for each of the various county funds, and performs other accounting functions for Johnson County.
