Independence Day 2023 hours for Johnson County departments and office

Most Johnson County governmental departments and offices will be closed on Tuesday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.

Detailed schedule changes include:

Ambulance: Johnson County Ambulance Service (JCAS) will be available for routine and emergency response. The JCAS billing and administrative offices will be closed. Emergency services remain available 365 days a year. In an emergency, residents should always dial 911.

Sheriff’s Office seeks space needs assessment RFQ - Reissued

The Sheriff’s Office is seeking requests for quotes from professional consulting firms to conduct a space needs assessment that will evaluate the existing facility, analyze space optimization and develop projections and conceptual plans for future needs.

Deadline to submit RFQ:  4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2023.

Johnson County announces Child Care Assistance Incentive Program to increase access to quality child care for low-income families

Johnson County Social Services’ is now accepting applications for its new Child Care Assistance Incentive Program. Applications will be accepted through August 1, 2023, for the first round of approvals. After that date, applications will be accepted and approved on a first-received, first-funded basis. Applications are available on the Johnson County website at www.johnsoncountyiowa.gov/ss. This program is a result of Johnson County’s investment of funds received from the federal government through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).

Applications are available at https://forms.gle/zq55PEiE377eHwSQ9 and will be considered on a first-received, first-considered basis. The Infant and Toddler Scholarship Program can assist parents in paying for a quality early education for their children while they work. This program is a result of Johnson County’s investment of funds received from the federal government through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).
