Weather permitting, critical closure for improvements to the intersection of F28 (West Penn Street) and James Avenue is expected to begin Monday, May 20, 2024, in Madison Township, Iowa. The intersection will be closed for up to 40 calendar days.

The National Association of County Engineers (NACE) awarded Johnson County Engineer Greg Parker, P.E., the 2024 Urban County Engineer of the Year Award during its Annual Conference earlier this month. Parker has served as Johnson County Engineer since 2005.
Weather permitting, construction will begin on F46 (American Legion Road SE), between Taft Avenue SE and Highway 6, on Monday, April 29, 2024. This location is in eastern Johnson County, outside of Iowa City.
