The Comprehensive Plan identifies where and how land use changes might occur in the unincorporated area of Johnson County. The unincorporated area includes rural areas and villages but does not include the cities. The plan addresses important topics such as land use, housing, economic development, transportation, natural resources, sustainability, and quality of life. The plan also guides collaborations with cities and other partners and helps create policy so that change happens in a way that best considers the needs of the county, its residents and the environment.

There will also be opportunities for public input at meetings of the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Johnson County Board of Supervisors. Those meeting times, dates and locations will be posted at Links to surveys (in the following languages: English, Spanish, French, and Arabic) will also be posted at that website.
