County Assessor Office closed in the afternoon on December 4.
Due to inclement weather over the weekend, the County Assessor's Office training has been delayed. The office will be closed from 1:30 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4.

Report property changes electronically
Iowa law requires property owners to report any changes that could affect their property value. Property owners in Johnson County need to report any building changes made since January 1, 2025. If the property has not changed, residents DO NOT need to report.

New Homestead Tax Exemption for homeowners 65 years of age and older.
On May 4, 2023, Governor Reynolds signed House File 718, establishing a homestead tax exemption for claimants 65 years of age or older.
