‘I Voted’ stickers have existed as a fun way for voters to show off their civic pride after voting for upwards of 30 years.  Now, you have the opportunity to have your own ‘I Voted’ sticker design in all 64 voting precincts in Johnson County on Election Day, with the chance to see your creativity displayed on tens of thousands of voters!

Eligibility

All residents of Johnson County and college students residing in Johnson County are eligible to enter this contest with the exception of employees of the Johnson County government.  All ages are welcome to participate.  There is an Adult (18 years and older) & Youth (17 years and younger) division in the contest.  Participants under 18 will require a signature of a parent/guardian on the Submission Form.

Design Rules
  1. Must include–but are not limited to–the words “I Voted”
  2. Must be original artwork (no stock photos, borrowed images, or AI generated images)
  3. Must be politically neutral
  4. Must not include copyrighted, trademarked, or branded materials
  5. Must not include obscene, violent, or defamatory images or words
  6. Must be designed using our template or if submitted digitally, must be a 2” diameter circle and must be a .png or .jpeg file
How to Enter

If you want to draw your design by hand, you can use our template to design your ‘I Voted’ sticker at this link.  Templates can also be picked up at the Auditor’s Office or mailed to you upon request. If you want to create your design digitally, the file must be a 2” diameter circle and must be submitted as a .png or .jpeg file. Submissions must include the Submission Form to be considered, which can be found at this link. Forms can also be picked up at the Auditor’s Office or mailed to you upon your request. 

There are two age divisions for this contest,  an Adult (18 years and older) & Youth (17 years and younger) division. Five finalists will be chosen from each category and a winner from each category will be chosen. 

Submissions will be accepted through email, in-person, or by mail.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I submit more than one design?

No, submissions are limited to one per person.

Does my sticker need to be hand-drawn?

No.  Submissions may be created using graphic design software but cannot include AI generated art to create submissions.  Digital submissions should be submitted as .png files or high resolution .jpeg images.  Submissions may also be hand-drawn using markers, pencils, pens, markers, paint, or other mixed media tools.  If submitted by email, hand drawn/paper submissions may be scanned and uploaded as a PDF file.

How is the panel chosen to review the submissions?

The panel is made up of employees in Johnson County.  The panel will be provided the designs without any identifying information about the entrant.

How is the winner chosen? 

  1. A panel will review all submissions and score them on a scale of 0-30.  The panel will be provided the designs without any identifying information about the entrant.
  2. Their score will be based on the following criteria:
    1. Artistic Skill (up to 10 points)
    2. Uniqueness of design (up to 10 points)
    3. Relevancy to prompt (up to 10 points)
  3. 5 finalists will be chosen in each age category by the panel based upon their score.  The 5 finalists from each category will be go to a public vote.  Public voting will take person at locations across Johnson County and online.
