Sales Tax

• An itemized Bill of Sale is always required
• Boat/OHV & trailer sale price must be separated
• Trailer sales tax is collected by Treasurer
• Boat/OHVs are subject to 6% or 7% sales tax
• Sales tax applies to both dealer & casual sales

OHV Rules (7/1/2022)

• OHV must be registered with DNR & display current sticker
• Operator must be 18
• Operator must carry proof of insurance
• Cannot exceed 35 mph

Title - $13.50
Lien - $13.50

Boat/OHV Registration

Purchase/Transfer

• Itemized Bill of Sale is required
• Title (if titled) or registration (if untitled) with seller signature
• Sales tax will be collected (unless previously paid)
• Completed DNR Application

Registration Exceptions
Canoes (no motor) 13 feet or less in length do not need registered.
Inflatable vessels 7 feet in length or less do not need registered.
Kayaks 13 feet or less in length do not need registered.
