Offices and Issues To Appear On Ballot and Lists of Candidates

Under an assigned alternating sequence required by state law, candidates of the Democratic Party will be listed first on the ballot this year and in 2028. Republicans were listed first in 2022 and 2024.

All offices will include a write-in line even if no candidates filed.

The filing deadline for most offices has passed. Exceptions:

  • Candidates for the Agricultural Extension Council and the Soil and Water Commission may file with our office until 5 p.m. on August 26.
  • The two full status parties (Democratic and Republican) may nominate candidates by convention until 5 p.m. on August 26. The filing deadline for candidates for partisan office not representing the two full status parties was June 2 at 5 p.m.
  • Ballot issues may be added.

A statewide list of federal and state candidates is available at the Secretary of State's website.

Sample ballots will be available on our Polling Place Lookup in September. You can use the polling place lookup to find your districts, and then review the list of candidates.
