Dates and Deadlines

  • February 23 - June 2, 5 PM: Filing period for federal and state offices, for candidates not running in June 2 Democratic or Republican primary. File with Secretary of State.
  • March 2 - June 2, 5 PM: Filing period for Board of Supervisors, County Attorney, Recorder and Treasurer, for candidates not running in June 2 Democratic or Republican primary. Filing period for township officials. File with auditor's office.
  • August 25: First day to request mailed absentee ballots. Requests received before this date will be returned to the voter as required by law.
  • August 26, 5 PM: Filing deadline for non-partisan countywide offices (Agricultural Extension, Soil and Water Commission)
  • September 19: Military and overseas ballots must be ready by this date.
  • October 14: First day for in person early voting and first day mailed ballots may be sent.
  • October 19:
    • Voter pre-registration deadline, 5 PM. Election day registration still available after this date.
    • Deadline to request mailed absentee ballots. Requests must be in our office by 5 PM. In person early voting still available after this date.
  • November 2: Last day for in person early voting.
  • November 3: Polls open 7 AM to 8 PM.
