Johnson County to accept grant applications from area nonprofits to support permanent housing programs
The Johnson County Social Services Department is accepting grant applications from nonprofit agencies that can provide programming to increase access to permanent, supportive housing for area households with children. Experiencing homelessness, housing instability and poverty have been linked to causing adverse effects on young children’s health, development, and future school performance, as well as risks of permanent effects on the development of the brain leading to high levels of stress, anxiety, and depression.
