The Johnson County Empowerment/Early Childhood Iowa Area Board is seeking new members to serve three-year terms beginning October 2026. Board participation is an opportunity for community members to contribute to decisions on how Early Childhood Iowa funds are used to support Johnson County children ages 0-5 and their families.
The Johnson County Empowerment/Early Childhood Iowa Area Board is Johnson County’s local area for the statewide Early Childhood Iowa initiative. The board is made up of family members of children ages 0-5, residents, business owners, childcare providers, community volunteers and elected officials.
Board members must reside or work in Johnson County. Board meetings are held monthly, typically on the third Thursday of the month from 6:30 to 8 p.m., via a hybrid format—Zoom and in person.
