The Iowa River continues to drop at River Junction. River Junction Access has been opened to vehicular traffic, but users are asked to stay on the roadways. Grassy areas remain wet, and vehicles leaving the roadway may cause rutting and disturbance to the turf.

Rainfall in the Iowa and English River watersheds is again resulting in rising river levels on the Iowa River at River Junction.

River Junction Access is now open to the public, following a short closure due to rising river levels. The Iowa River has dropped and is expected to stay below flood stage.

River Junction Access is closed until further notice. Staff closed the road on Wednesday evening based on forecast river levels, and it will remain closed until the river levels recede below flood stage and the site can be assessed for damage.

Iowa's Bald Eagles Soar Again
Whether or not you’re a serious birder, one of the best views in eastern Iowa in the wintertime is dozens of eagles in the trees along a riverbank. Reintroduction programs and increasing areas of open water have both contributed to more Bald Eagle sightings.
