The Johnson County Board of Supervisors announces one vacancy on the Johnson County Planning and Zoning Commission for a resident of unincorporated Johnson County. The vacancy is to fill a term beginning upon appointment and ending Dec. 31, 2027.
Duties include making recommendations to the Board of Supervisors on matters relating to requests for rezoning and subdivision platting of property in the unincorporated area of Johnson County. The Commission also makes recommendations to the Board of Supervisors regarding updates to the Johnson County Comprehensive Plan and Unified Development Ordinance.
Qualified applicants must be eligible electors who reside in the unincorporated area of Johnson County.
Planning and Zoning Commission meetings are scheduled for the second Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the Johnson County Administration Building, 913 S. Dubuque St., Iowa City. Average meeting length is one to two hours. Mileage reimbursement is provided for travel to required meetings.
