The Johnson County Board of Supervisors announces a vacancy on the Johnson County Building Code Board of Appeals for a four-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2026, and expiring Dec. 31, 2029. The vacancy is for a person representing the electrical industry.
The duties of the Building Code Board of Appeals are: to interpret the Johnson County Building Code and Amendments; and to hear and decide appeals of orders, decisions or determinations made by a building official.
The Building Code Board of Appeals meets at least once annually, with additional meetings scheduled in the event of an appeal or upon special request. Meetings typically take place in the Johnson County Administration Building, 913 S. Dubuque Street, Iowa City.
