Crowded Closet Thrift Shop is a non-profit thrift store in Iowa City. Our mission is to share God’s love and compassion in the name of Christ by supporting Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) world relief, service and development programs, as well as local community relief agencies. All the profits of the Crowded Closet go to support these relief and service organizations. 

​The thrift shop sells donated goods such as clothing for men, women and children, housewares, furniture, toys, books and antiques. In addition, we offer Fair Trade food items such as coffee and chocolate as well as seasonal items such as decor, gifts and more. 

Crowded Closet is operated by a community of hundreds of volunteers, with the support of staff. Volunteer opportunities are open to varied commitment levels and interests. Our volunteer community is a place to find friendship and connection, build new skills, and gain new experiences.
