The Dementia Friendly Johnson County Action Team works together to collaborate on how to develop Johnson County into a Dementia Friendly community. A Dementia Friendly community is a village, town, city or county that is informed, safe and respectful of individuals with dementia, their families and caregivers, and provides supportive options that foster quality of life.

The mission of the Dementia Friendly Johnson County Action Team is to break the stigma surrounding dementia by creating awareness, educating community members and businesses, along with growing the network of dementia friends. The Dementia Friendly Johnson County Action Team meets monthly, anyone is welcomed to join.
