Patrick “Mac” McConville  was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division C Company 1967 – 1969 1st Platoon, Vietnam

May 1, 1948 - Aug. 24, 2012

From a young age, Pat's father Clem instilled a love of the outdoors… from hunting, fishing and trapping, to baseball and softball; Pat loved being active and embraced any opportunity to exercise these passions.

In 1967, Pat volunteered for the Army and was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division, gaining the rank of sergeant by the time he exited three years later. Pat spent half of this enlistment in the midst of the terrible Vietnam War.  Although he survived unmatched cruelty, the war never defined his life; it only made him enjoy the little things more, such as the outdoors and watching his children, Amy, Wess, and Michelle, grow up.

Pat earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mankato State University and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Idaho.  Pat was an accomplished artist and specialized in ceramics.

Pat also worked hard to provide for his family.  Having spent nearly three decades as a member of the Pipefitters Union Local #455 of St. Paul, Minnesota, Pat made many lifelong friends all of whom will never forget his unique personality and infectious sense of humor.
