Marvin A Spading

Marvin A. Spading was born March 10, 1912 in Brooklyn, Iowa. He was inducted into the Armed Forces March 27, 1944 at Camp Dodge, Iowa. Marvin served in the United States Army during World War II in Company M 253rd Infantry at Rhineland, Central Europe. Marvin discharged honorably as a Private First Class January 16, 1946 at Camp Grant, Illinois. He then returned to farming but at just 53 years young on August 20, 1965, he died on his farm in Chelsea, Iowa in a tractor accident.

Decorations earned: European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with 2 Bronze battle stars, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, 2 overseas service bars.
