James Burton Serbousek served honorably from March 19, 1945 to November 23, 1946 in the United States Army in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign during World War II. He was assigned to the 879th Ordnance Heavy Automotive Maintenance Company. James was awarded the Expert M-1 Rifle badge, Army of Occupation Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. He also served as Commander of the Swisher American Legion post #671 in Swisher, Iowa. James was buried at Anderson Cemetery in Swisher, Iowa.
