James Arndt

Jim Arndt was born on 8 February, 1928. He grew up in Fairfield, IA. He attended Iowa State and got a bachelor’s degree in engineering. Jim was married and had six children.
He had two brothers that also served in the military, one in WWII and one in Europe during the Korean War. Jim was drafted into the Army in October 1950. During his two years of service he achieved the rank of Recon Sgt of the 115th Engineering Combat Group. Jim served at Fort Lenard Wood, Fort Riley, Fort Lewis and his favorite was Stuttgart, Germany. He separated from the Army in October 1952.
