Gene Gerard was born May 25, 1921 and resided in Marengo, Iowa. He entered the Army on December 19, 1942 at Camp Dodge, Iowa. Gene completed Automotive Mechanic and Marksman Rifle training. He spent part of his service in Hawaii before his Honorable demobilization discharge on November 1, 1945 in Jefferson, Missouri. After returning home to his family, Gene was employed as an automotive mechanic for several dealerships. Gene loved watching his family grow up and enjoyed camping. After retiring from Toyota, he was happy to spend more time with his grandchildren, drive his truck, display the American flag, and watch the rabbits and squirrels in the yard.

Honors earned: Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon, three overseas bars, and a Good Conduct Medal.
