Christopher William (Robin) Graves was born in 1947 and raised in Sioux City, Iowa. He graduated from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa in 1969. He commissioned as a Second Lieutenant from the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Detachment 255. His first assignment was to Vandenberg Air Force Base, California. His following assignments include: Incirlik Air Base, Turkey; Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota; Kunson Air Base, Korea (remote assignment); and Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska where he ended his Air Force career as a Captain in September of 1981.

He married Carol Lavonne Atchison of Iowa City, Iowa in June of 1972. Both of their daughters (Andrea Gail and Jean Lavonne) were born at Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota. Christopher passed away in December of 2000 with Cancer.
