Brickie Bowman Jr. from Saginaw county Michigan was born on February 16, 1947. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served during the Vietnam War as a Private. His military occupation or specialty was Basic Infantryman.. Attached to 1st Marine Division Brigade, 1st Battalion, 4th Marines, D Company.

During his service in the Vietnam War; Private Bowman experienced a traumatic event which ultimately resulted in loss of life on May 23, 1965. Recorded circumstances attributed to: Non-Hostile Died of Illness or Injury, Accidental Homicide, Ground Casualty. Incident location: South Vietnam, Quang Tin province.

Commendations: Combat Action Ribbon, Marksmanship Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Marine Corps Presidential Unit Citation, Vietnam Gallantry Cross, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, and the Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal.
