What programs fall under the Clinical Services Division?

What type of tasks will I be doing as a volunteer?
Volunteers can be assigned a variety of tasks and responsibilities, such as clerical work, communication, data entry, educational outreach like tabling at public health events, and more.
Does Johnson County Public Health require or offer any training or educational opportunities?
We require all volunteers to complete Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) training in order to protect the confidentiality of our clients and patients. We also offer opportunities for volunteers to participate in our staff trainings which cover topics such as health equity, trauma informed care, LGBTQ* inclusive health care, vaccine advocacy, and more.
What is the process to become a volunteer?
Please begin by filling out the Volunteer Inquiry Form and return to Debra Ackerman at [email protected]. We will connect with you to set up a meeting where you will discuss any programs or work you are interested in doing as a volunteer. Once your volunteer plan has been established, you will set the date for your first day, where you will be given a tour of the building, complete volunteer paperwork, and be introduced to the staff you will be volunteering with.
