Mike Hensch - Executive Director
Email Mike Hensch

Mike provides administrative guidance to and coordination for the Board. He was Johnson County’s Medical Examiner Administrator from 2005 to 2017, and was a Supervisor and Medical Examiner Investigator with the County from 2002 to 2005. From 1999 to 2005, Mike served as Director of Pastoral Care for Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Prior to that position, he was the manager of safety and security for the hospital. In the early 1990s, Mike served as executive assistant to the Warren County, Iowa, Board of Supervisors. He served in the United States Navy from 1977 to 1983, working as a medical laboratory technologist.

Kelli Andresen – Communications Coordinator

Kelli joined the County in December 2017. She provides support and coordination for County communications efforts, including media relations, social media management, and community engagement and outreach. Prior to joining Johnson County, she worked as a communications professional at the City of Iowa City, as well as the University of Iowa Public Policy Center, Office of Strategic Communications, and International Programs.

Donna Brooks
Donna Brooks – Grants Coordinator

Donna researches, writes, and administers grants to support Johnson County’s various departments, initiatives, and programs. She holds a B.S. in Journalism and Mass Communication from Iowa State University and an MFA in Creative Writing from Queens University of Charlotte. Prior to her position as Grants Assistant with the Board of Supervisors, Donna worked for the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa, the Sioux City Public Library, and Western Iowa Tech Community College as a communications specialist and writing instructor.

Krista Burich
Krista Burich – Communications Assistant
Email Krista Burich

Krista provides support and coordination for County communications efforts, including media relations, social media and community outreach. Prior to her position as Communications Assistant for the Board of Supervisors, she worked in Elections for the Auditor's Office. Before joining Johnson County, Krista provided freelance social media and design work to businesses in Iowa City and worked as a communications specialist in the nonprofit sector in Maryland and Washington D.C.

Ilsa Dewald
Ilsa Dewald – Local Foods Coordinator

Ilsa provides resources, collaboration assistance, and other support to farmers, processers, marketers, educators, distributers, and other members of our community food system. She assists the Johnson County Food Policy Council with their recommendations and annual public forums. Before joining Johnson County in May 2018, Ilsa worked at North Liberty Community Pantry as the Garden and Operations Coordinator.

Keshia Fields
Keshia Fields – Inclusion and Equity Specialist

Keshia devotes her time to promote inclusion, diversity and equity at Johnson County. She partners with departments and offices at the County to encourage a culture where everyone feels like they belong. Prior to her position as Inclusion and Equity Specialist, Keshia worked for Johnson County Public Health assisting in efforts to prevent disease and promote health for Johnson County residents.

Giovanni Lobo, Media Production and Technology Specialist

Giovanni joined the Board of Supervisors Office in December 2020. He provides support for the County in all media production needs, as well as technology for the boardroom. Prior to joining Johnson County he was a lead installer and programmer for Reference Audio, specializing in audio and video deployments for different counties and corporations in Iowa. During this time, he led many installations in conference and meeting rooms, as well as churches, football fields and gyms. He holds a degree in audio recording technologies, is passionate about technology and is always eager to expand his knowledge in the audio and video production world.

Matt Miller
Matt Miller – Guidelink Center Project Manager

Matt is a University of Iowa Health Care (UIHC) employee who was contracted to work with the County as the project manager for the Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center (BHUCC) initiative in May 2018. He has nearly ten years of project management experience working on a multitude of objectives with both General Dynamics and UIHC.

Jill Wenger, Administrative Assistant

Jill provides administrative support and coordination for the Board of Supervisors office. Prior to this position she worked for Johnson County Livable Community, freelanced graphic design and administrative services, and worked for the City of Iowa City in the Document Services (now Communications) department.
