Social Services Block Grants

Each year, as part of the annual budget process, Johnson County designates a portion of General Basic funds for allocation in grant funding that addresses basic human needs, health, and child and family well-being. The monies are distributed through the Social Services Block Grants and are generally awarded as discretionary funds.

The Emergency/Innovative Flexible Funds are awarded mid- fiscal year to assist with short- term or one-time needs and support capacity building, sustaining services, innovative new programming or the purchase of equipment/supplies.
