The Recorder's office provides direct service to the county’s citizens and serves as a repository for many public records. Some are land transactions, documenting title to property. We also provide registration and titling services for recreational vehicles such as boats, snowmobiles, and ATVs. We issue marriage licenses and house the county’s birth, death, and marriage records, and provide certified copies of these documents. Such widely varied responsibilities make the Recorder's office an important site for services and document archives.

We have worked hard to bring you many options for online real estate document searches. Those options are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Future projects include the development of electronic transactions for filing various documents and the expansion of searchable records.

We strive to provide excellent service and we actively seek feedback - click here to send us an email. Your input will help us craft future strategic planning documents and steer a course for better service to you as taxpayers.

We work hard each day to earn and keep your confidence. Please let me know of any suggestions you might have.

>>> The Recorders’ Office is open to the public by appointment due to COVID-19. Please call 319-356-6093.

We also have service transaction options not requiring in-person contact for your convenience. <<<
