Breastfeeding Peer Counselors

Breastfeeding peer counselors are women enrolled in WIC who have breastfed their babies for six months or longer and have received additional breastfeeding education from WIC staff. The counselors will call other women enrolled in WIC who are pregnant or new to breastfeeding to give them advice, encouragement and support. Bosom Buddies of Johnson County WIC provides a personal touch from the perspective of someone who has been through the difficulties and concerns that WIC breastfeeding mothers may experience.
